Back in the day, not only was the anime painted by hand, anime storybooks were also illustrated with hand painted cels.

These cels were used in the official Pikachu vs. Raichu storybook, which is all original artwork painted only for that book - no screenshots, no repeats.

These beautiful cels moved on to a new home with a dedicated storybook cel collector, but I will keep the pics from their time in my collection preserved here for you!
